Frequently asked questions

Are the doctors of The Green Remedy on the "physician registry"?

Yes. All of our doctors have taken the required 4-hour cannabis training course and have successfully registered with the Department of Health to certify patients for medical cannabis. We are more than happy to provide the name of the doctor that will be certifying you after you book your appointment.

Are there fees associated with a cannabis certification?

Yes. Unfortunately, private insurance, medicare or medicaid does not cover medical cannabis certification. All of the fees are out-of-pocket. Feel free to give us a call to learn more about the fees in your specific state. There are discounts available for veterans, those who have medicare, medicaid and SSDI.

can my cannabis certification be revoked?

Yes. It is important that once you receive your medical cannabis certification that you use it within the law. You are only allowed to purchase cannabis for yourself (or for a patient if you are their registered caregiver) from a state-licensed dispensary. Keep in mind that the department of health has the right to remove you from the patient registry if you do not comply with the laws.

do i need a referral from my family doctor?

No you do not. The choice to use medical cannabis as a treatment for your qualifying condition is your decision. You do not need a referral or the permission of your primary care physician.

what is bonafide relationship?

The state requires that each patient have a "bona-fide" relationship with the doctor that will be signing off on their patient certification. This means that a visit (face-to-face, virtually or by phone) has taken place. The doctor has completed an exam and medical-accepted documents have been maintained by the doctor.

Does my condition qualify?

The state allows 17+ conditions to be treated with medical cannabis. Click your state to view the conditions list.
